What it solves

Running a DeepSeek Harness agent on a phone traditionally means either hand-building a Linux environment in Termux or using a proot + Ubuntu container: tedious setup, a first-run download of 500MB–2GB of rootfs, and frequent native-module build failures (sharp, koffi, node-pty).

DSH Mobile packs the official dsh engine (pinned to 0.2.0-rc.2) plus a self-built bionic Node.js runtime into a single APK, so it works right after install:

  • Zero external dependencies — no root, no Termux, no PC. The engine listens on 127.0.0.1; sessions, credentials and workspaces stay on the device
  • Extension center — one-tap install of 19 environments (Python, Go, Rust, Clang, OpenJDK, Git, FFmpeg, OpenSSH, ADB and more) with dependency-closure resolution, SHA-256 verification and automatic mirror fallback; the agent can also install environments for itself mid-session
  • Real execution power — bundled bash / ripgrep / pnpm / curl; the agent reads and writes files, runs commands, starts local HTTP servers and hands you a 127.0.0.1 link for instant preview
  • Device capability bridge — token-gated local bridge for screen reading, tapping, typing, swiping, screenshots, notifications, vibration and TTS
  • Three permission tiers — Normal (app sandbox) / Shizuku (adb-level commands) / Root (full filesystem), defaulting to Normal with a su gate blocking AI subprocess privilege escalation
  • Portable data — sessions and workspaces live in internal storage Documents/dshdata and survive uninstall/reinstall
  • Keep-alive and visibility — foreground service plus supervisor against system reclamation, a streaming floating bar showing live AI output and recent tool calls, and completion notifications
  • Voice input and remote terminal — floating-ball voice input straight into the current conversation; with the OpenSSH extension you can SSH in from a computer for terminal work and file transfer

Who it’s for

  • Developers who want a DeepSeek agent on hand without carrying a laptop or maintaining a Termux setup
  • People who need Python / Node / Rust / Go toolchains directly on the phone, or want the agent to code, search and serve previews locally
  • Users who want to skip native-module build pain while keeping the dsh plugin system and WebUI intact
  • Advanced users with root or Shizuku who want adb-level and full-filesystem capabilities exposed to the agent

Requirements and limits

  • Android 8.0+, with system WebView at Chrome 85+; arm64-v8a / x86_64; reserve 700MB+ of space (APK ~124MB, ~490MB installed)
  • No Linux desktop environment — visual artifacts are previewed through a local HTTP server and the built-in WebView
  • Accessibility screen reading relies on the node tree, so purely graphical/game screens are not supported (semi-blind tapping)
  • By upstream security design the dsh WebUI refuses to bind 0.0.0.0, so a desktop browser cannot open the phone’s WebUI; use the phone screen or SSH for terminal work
  • Long-running tasks can still be interrupted by a user force-stop or extreme battery saving; root mode gives the AI full filesystem access and mistakes can damage the system
  • Model inference goes through the API endpoint you configure — this is not an on-device LLM app, and it is a port, not a self-built agent framework
